#WomeninSPORT #Pregnancy - Exercise before conceiving best way to prevent pregnancy pains - WITH: @andrewgregory

Researchers have found jogging, ball games and aerobics before sex appear to be most beneficial for preventing pelvic pain

Women who take up strenuous exercise before they conceive for the first time can reduce aches and pains during pregnancy. Researchers have found jogging, ball games and aerobics appear to be most beneficial for preventing pelvic pain, which affects one in five mums-to-be. It can mean some struggle to walk or sleep because they are in such agony. But a study showed that exercising three to five times a week before trying for a baby cut the chances of developing it by 14%.

Girdle pain happens when joints in the pelvis move unevenly as the body makes way for the growing baby.In the British Journal of Sports Medicine, experts from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, said: “High-impact exercises were associated with less risk of pelvic girdle pain.”
