CoreFIRST

Are you a 'CoreFIRST' School/Club?

At WSNet we're passionate about 'CoreFIRST' - giving girls whole body confidence BEFORE they engage in (competitive) sport such that they will try new sports and activities, be happy to make mistakes and be 'strong' enough to confidently recruit the right muscles to cradle, kick, feather, serve, hit  . . or lift - and throw.  Much of this thinking comes from our forthcoming, innovative conference - LIKEaGIRL - which invesgtigates WHY girls throw . . . well, LIKEaGIRL and WHAT coaches, teachers and clubs can do and HOW they can address it. We're still working on this concept (and this repository)  but wanted to share some of our resources with you and your pupils. Please email me if you want more info - or want to add to this repository. jo.c@wsnet.co.uk

Quote from WSNet - "The 'Silver Bullet' to raise the profile of women's sport - is offering girls in years 4/5/6 a better understanding of how their bodies work - 'CoreFIRST' (through 2 hours of ballet, gym, dance per week) improves a girl's chances of continuing in casual and competitive sport and  . . . taking that confidence into everyday lives."
